Prenatal Testing And Diagnosis Resources
As a medical professional, you will often be the first to communicate to a family their newborn’s diagnosis of Down syndrome. Your words will have a lifelong impact. DSAWM is committed to providing resources and support to medical professionals who are involved in delivering a diagnosis of Down syndrome to new and expectant parents. We encourage you to view and utilize the resources linked below. To request free copies (available in English and Spanish) for your medical office, please contact DSAWM at 616-956-3488 or victoria@dsawm.org.
DSAWM utilizes Down Syndrome Pregnancy and Lettercase materials – both are administered by the National Center for Prenatal and Postnatal Resources at the University of Kentucky’s Human Development Institute. The materials provided are honest, compassionate, medically-reviewed, and informative.
Rising Kites is a local nonprofit that works to provide hospitals, birthing centers, and prenatal clinics with resources that can be immediately distributed to parents who have just learned that their child has a diagnosis of Down syndrome. If your practice is interested in requesting information, contact Rising Kites online at risingkites.org/gift-our-bags.
