How to Maximize Your Child's Development

For children from birth to 30 months
Wednesday, June 10: Feeding: From Breast to Bottle to Spoon. Note: A Lactation Consultant will be present at the meeting to consult with parents.
Time - 9:30-11:00 am
Location - Easter Seals, 4065 Saladin Dr SE, Grand Rapids (616) 942-2081
Each session will conclude with 20-40 minutes of questions. Please bring your child, a blanket & questions. You are encouraged to attend even if your child cannot. Please extend an invitation to anyone involved in your child's care.
Sibling care will be provided. Please include the number and ages of children needing childcare when registering.

The Center for Motor Behavior and Pediatric Disabilities (CMBPD) at the University of Michigan will be holding bicycle training camps for children with Down syndrome.
The aim of this bicycle training camp is to assist children and adolescents to learn to ride a two-wheel bicycle without training wheels. Children will be trained 75 minutes per day for five days on an individual basis with specially designed bikes that tip much slower than a typical bike. Bikes will be adapted throughout the week according to the child's skill level.

Bike camp is free of charge and will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Speaker Alice Belgrade, MS, Ed, LCPC of Chicago Behavior Consultants will teach you how to take your child from defiance to compliance.
This workshop presents practical interventions that address the meaning of misbehavior. Video and case examples will illustrate how to use positive strategies to encourage cooperation and learning.

Our visit will focus on the Children's Garden and Farm Garden.
